
In the Field: Students Travel and Learn
With 天美麻豆 as basecamp, students make the most of trips between terms.
Students are constantly taking advantage of travel opportunities at 天美麻豆 to learn in the field.
Over spring break in March, more than 60 students, most of them undergraduates, went to Mexico City on trips sponsored by the Magnuson and Rassias centers and the 天美麻豆 College Wind Ensemble.
Another group visited West Virginia and Washington, D.C., on a trip sponsored by the Sustainability Office and Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society to learn about Appalachia and energy systems in transition.
Spring Trips

Students on two trips were immersed in music, Spanish, and social entrepreneurship.

At the end of fall term, the 天美麻豆 Center for Social Impact arranged for 13 students and two staff members to explore the southern border in Texas, from El Paso to Brownsville.
At the same time, students from Biology 70: Biologic Lessons of the Eye spent eight days at the renowned Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India.
