Photography
has always played a very important role in my life.
There is not one time growing up when my mom did not
have a camera in her hand, and there is not one moment
of my life that was not captured on film.
Throughout my childhood, I always had a fascination
with not only photography, but also weddings.
Before
my mom turned her passion into a home-based business,
she owned a bridal shop in downtown Waukesha. I remember
greeting customers as they came in the door, and watching
all of the brides come in to view my mom's photography.
I loved the feeling that I got being there with my mom,
watching her work, helping her with odd projects. The
most exciting part about working with my mom was when
December rolled around. December was my time to shine
in the Waukesha Bridal Expo that my mom ran at the time.
Needless to say, I spent a lot of time at our shop prancing
up and down the hallways practicing my walk (usually
to Michael Bolton songs on the radio) for the upcoming
bridal shows that I modeled in. My claim to fame: being
a mini bride with the mini groom, and feeding each other
a piece of Wisconsin's LARGEST wedding cake!
I
remember getting my first camera when I was only nine
years old from my mom. From that moment in time, photography
became one of my life long passions. My hobby of photography,
which started with pictures of our family, pets and
vacations, has grown over the years. Now I enjoy capturing
the timeless essence of landscape photography, animal
photography, family photography, but most of all wedding
photography. I have a deep appreciation of art and photojournalism.
Planning my own wedding in 2002 and being a bride was
one of the greatest times of my life. I can appreciate
all that goes into planning a wedding.
